United Kingdom - Companies reduce sick pay for unvaccinated employees - January 31, 2022

Recently, a number of large companies imposed a financial penalty of one kind or another on unvaccinated workers who were forced to self-isolate. Major retailers are increasing the pressure on staff who refuse to be vaccinated without a valid reason. The furniture retailer IKEA has reduced sick pay for unvaccinated staff who are off work due to self-isolation. Those workers are now only eligible for statutory sick pay of £96.35 (€113.96) a week during 10 days of isolation, in comparison to more than £400 (€473) before tax for an average worker on the shop floor.
