Turkey - Collective agreement in metal industry - January 31, 2022

After months of campaigning, trade unions in the metal sector, Turk Metal, Birle§ik Metal-i§ and Ozgelik-i§, have reached an agreement with the employers’ organization MESS for a two-year sector-wide collective agreement. Before the final round of negotiations, MESS withdrew its demands for concessions. According to a joint press statement from the three unions, workers have won an average 65.67 % pay increase in the companies covered by MESS. This translated to a 27.44% increase for the first six months of the agreement and 30% for the second half of the year.
