Sweden - Bill on employment protection submitted to Law Council - January 31, 2022

The proposal for new legislation on security, adjustment and employment protection has been sent for consultation to the Law Council. Union IF Metall has been a driving force in the parties’ negotiations on security and adjustment. The Law Council's referral is an important step for the agreement to enter into force on 30 June 2022. The proposal means that workers will receive world-class adjustment support. It provides an opportunity to change in the middle of life and for further education or retraining.
