Netherlands - Online supermarket staff covered by collective agreement - September 30, 2022

People who work for online supermarkets are also covered by the supermarket collective agreement. This was announced by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment. By declaring the collective agreement generally binding, employees of, for example, Picnic or flash deliverers at companies such as Gorilla’s and Flink are entitled to the wages and allowances that apply to employees in regular supermarkets. According to the vice-president of union FNV: ’Declaring this collective agreement generally binding is a clear signal to companies and trade unions that are doing everything they can to undermine the applicable collective agreement.’
