Netherlands - 9% pay rise at rail company - November 30, 2022

Trade unions have reached a new collective agreement with railway maintenance and renewal company ProRail. On average, wages of ProRail employees will rise by 9%. Since the unions and ProRail are already involved in a process of reducing the workload, the only issue during this bargaining round was pay. A wage increase of 6% was agreed, with a minimum of € 375. This means that the lower pay scales will rise by almost 13%. In addition, a one-off inflation allowance of € 1,350 has been agreed upon. The new collective agreement will take effect on 1 January 2023 and will run until 1 July 2024. Approximately 5,000 employees are covered by the ProRail collective agreement.
