The Government plans to discuss possible solutions to compensate the rapid price increases and presented a plan to increase the minimum wage from €640 to €700 next year. The minister explained that €640 was chosen because it meets the criterion of 50% of the average wage which is also one of the reference criteria mentioned in the Commission proposal for a European Directive on adequate minimum wages.
