Germany - WSI strike report 2021 published - April 30, 2022

The strike report of the Economic and Social Research Institute (WSI) in the Hans-Bockler Foundation provides a comprehensive overview of strike developments in Germany in 2021. The report illustrates that in the second year of the corona pandemic, collective bargaining disputes in Germany have gained considerable momentum. After a temporary decline, industrial action reached the level of the pre-Corona years. With around 590,000 days lost due to industrial action, the volume of industrial action in 2021 was significantly higher than in the previous year.
