European social partners in the insurance sector adopted a joint declaration on diversity, inclusion and discrimination. They agree on definitions of diversity, inclusion and discrimination in the workplace, and affirm that “respectful, tolerant and inclusive workplaces are key for employee satisfaction, engagement and empowerment and for the sector’s growth, success, innovativeness, creativity and sustainability”. The signatories point out that measures to prevent discrimination against all existing protected groups should be an integral part of company culture and policy.
