Austria - Hot collective bargaining autumn expected - September 30, 2022

The many effects of many crises promise a particularly hot collective bargaining autumn. In the run-up to the autumn wage round, the union vida is not only pushing for a gross minimum wage of €2,000 euros. It also wants to bring forward negotiations for hundreds of thousands of workers in the transport and service sectors, from railway workers to hairdressers. Actually, these would only begin in 2023, i.e. months after the trend-setting metal collective bargaining negotiations, which will start soon. Special collective bargaining negotiations are required for employees in all sectors relevant to vida comprising around 500,000 people.
