Turkey - Request for higher minimum wage - January 31, 2021

The Confederation of Progressive Trade Unions (DÍSK) made a formal request for the minimum wage to be exempted from taxes and cuts made by the Social Security Institution (SGK). The fourth and final meeting of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission was held on 28 December 2020. The commission determined the net and gross minimum wages for 2021. The gross minimum wage now stands at 3,577.50 Turkish lira (€403) and the net wage stands at 2,825.90 lira (€318).
