The public service unions signed an agreement covering the 250,000 staff in government for the three-year period of 2019-2021. After months of negotiations, the agreement delivered an average pay increase of EUR 90 a month, backdated to 1 January 2021. The agreement also covers a range of other areas including remote work, parental leave and new procedures covering progression through pay grades. Meanwhile, unions Fp- Cgil and Uil-Fpl have signed an agreement with the ARIS private health employers’ organisation covering doctors and managers, which makes progress towards ensuring that their pay and conditions are comparable to the public sector.
