France - SOS Medecins on strike for pay increase - September 30, 2021

The at-home, 24-hour medical service SOS Medecins was suspended for 24 hours because of a strike. According to the Federation d’associations de medecins liberaux SOS Medecins, the strike aims to “alert people to the fact that the service providing home visits could be at risk” if the pay for doctors who make home visits is not increased. This comes following pay evaluations during the Covid-19 health crisis, during which the government raised the rate for doctors visiting an elderly person at home from EUR 35 to EUR 57.60. SOS Medecins called for the change to be made permanent.
