Czechia - Employment decreases, unemployment rises - May 31, 2021

Total employment in the first quarter of 2021 decreased by 82,400 persons, year-on-year (y-o-y), according to data of the Czech Statistical Office. The employment rate (percentage of working persons in the age group 15-64 years) decreased compared to the corresponding period of the previous year by 0.8 percentage points. The number of unemployed increased by 73,300 persons. The unemployment rate increased by 1.4 percentage points to 3.4% (y-o-y). The number of the economically inactive increased by 7,400.
