After two earlier cases of corona outbreaks in meat-processing plants, new tests forced authorities to close down another plant. This time, 21 out of 130 workers in a random trial tested positively. Some 80% of workers in the meat industry are from eastern Europe and are employed via staffing agencies on minimum wages. They often depend on their employer for accommodation, which is frequently overcrowded.
