Iceland - Raise of unemployment benefits rejected - August 31, 2020

The government announced not to raise the unemployment benefits. However it would be possible to extend the time period of income-related unemployment benefits; i.e., unemployment payments based on how much one earned at their previous job. This comes after The Icelandic Confederation of University Graduates (BHM) called on the government to raise the maximum income-related unemployment benefits.
