ADEDY, the public service union, carried out a nationwide strike, demanding, among other things, substantial measures to protect the health of workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, mass recruitments in the field of health and public transport. It also points to the government’s proposals for the abolition of the unpaid overtime after 8 hours, additional restrictions on strikes, weakening of the rights for labour disputes, reductions of workers’ benefits through the unemployment office. Also health workers were taking part in the nationwide 24-hour strike.
