Germany - Settlement between trade unionist and Hyundai - August 31, 2020

A trade union member defended his rights as a worker, trade unionist, and member of the works council at the Hyundai research and development centre, at the regional labour court. The conflict started in 2003 but now ended in a settlement between the two parties. The work contract will not expire before December 31, 2021 and the employee will receive a severance payment. Although the trade union is happy for the individual worker, they fear that the disdain shown by Hyundai for the independent trade union will continue as well as its support for a yellow union.
