Germany - Extension of furlough scheme until December 2021 - August 31, 2020

The government has decided to extend its furlough scheme until December 2021, notwithstanding the reservations by a number of politicians at the potential bill of €30 million. The job support scheme assists workers whose income has been adversely affected by the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent lockdown.
