Belgium - Workers took average of 13 sick days last year - February 29, 2020

The average employee took 12.9 days off work last year as a result of illness. Human resources consultancy SD Worx has found that there has been an increase in sick leave of around 15% over the last five years. A large part of the increase was due to a growth in cases of long-term sickness, which was bigger in companies with more than a thousand employees than in smaller firms. The results only refer to the private sector.
