Turkey - Railway workers win 25% wage rise - January 31, 2019

Workers of the Railway Workers Union izmir branch went on strike in demand of a 28% wage rise as part of their new collective agreement. After a month of strike actions, the strike was postponed due to a presidential decree. After new rounds of collective bargaining workers and railway management finally reached an agreement. According to the agreement, 449 workers will get a 25% wage rise, amounting to an increase of 700 Turkish Liras in their monthly salaries.
