Slovakia - Slight drop in unemployment - November 30, 2019

After unemployment increased slightly to over 5% in September, it dropped in late October to 4.94%. In annual terms, it fell by 0.29 percentage points. This drop stands in contrast to reports suggesting an economic slowdown. According to bank analysts, the unemployment rate has been persistently low because the number of available jobs, especially in the west of the country, is still quite high. Unemployment will probably continue to hover around 5% next year.
