Serbia - Number of peacefully settled labour disputes increased - October 31, 2019

The number of peacefully settled cases doubled compared to 2018, as more and more workers avoid strikes and complicated court procedure and choose mediation of the Agency for Peaceful Settlement of Labour Disputes. The main reasons for such growth are the amendments to the legislation which gave the Agency more powers, as well as the adoption of its Code of Ethics. In last few years, the Agency has become a more important player in Serbian social dialogue.
