Netherlands - TATA Steel announces 1,600 job cuts - November 30, 2019

Tata Steel’s reorganisation in Europe will be felt the hardest in IJmuiden. 1,600 of the expected three thousand layoffs will happen in this city situated near the country’s capital. Two thirds of the jobs lost will be office and management functions. Trade union FNV immediately threatened to respond with strikes. Tata will meet the Central Works Council to discuss details.
