Netherlands - Biggest union confederation discusses basic income - January 31, 2019

The FNV (Dutch Confederation of Labour Unions) starts a discussion on the feasibility of basic income as a means to reach a more honest division of work, income and wealth. The starting point of the discussion is a research report by Paul de Beer and Wieteke Conen in which the authors conclude that not only the active part of the potential labour population has grown over the latest 40 years but at the same time inequality has also risen.
