Hungary - Week-long strike at Audi ends with pay deal - January 31, 2019

After a week of industrial action at the nations’ Audi plant, unions and management reached a deal on an 18% wage increase. Thousands of workers participated in the strike actions. The workers at the Audi plant were demanding an 18% wage increase because of what they considered an unfair wage gap with colleagues working for Volkswagen Group's other factories in eastern Europe. Unions also pointed out that Volkswagen pays much higher salaries to workers in other European countries.
