Finland - Emergency statement on collective bargaining round - November 30, 2019

Employers have taken damaging positions in this year’s negotiations that have started in October 2019, according to IndustriALL. Employers are demanding a lowering of labour costs and lengthening of working hours and, even more alarming, are trying to weaken trade unions by pushing for major restrictions of industrial action and destroying the system of deducting trade union membership fees from salaries. This could severely weaken trade unions’ financial capacity.
