The distribution of wealth is still very uneven. According to data published by the Austrian National bank the richest 1% of the population owns almost 25% of total wealth. And it is noteworthy that the Super rich Austrians are not included in the data. The poorest 50% of the population on the contrary only owns 3,6%. The results of the research contradict the income-based image of Austria as a society of the middle class.
