Iceland - Unions enter wage negotiations separate from their federation - December 31, 2018

Trade unions Efling and Verkalyösfélag Akraness decided that they will enter upcoming wage negotiations separately from the trade union federation SGS of whom both unions are a member. The reason to split up from the federation that consists of 19 trade unions is that they take a more radical stance in the upcoming wage negotiations that the SGS. Both unions are expected to work more closely together with VR Union that is not part of the SGS.
