Bulgaria -No minimum wage hike in 2015 -November 24, 2014

Dec 7, 2014 - The head of the interim parliamentary committee on budget and finance Menda Stoyanova said that no proposals to raise the minimum wage were on the agenda and that the 2015 budget that is being adopted is based on the current level. The minimum wage is currently BGN340 (€173) per month and is the lowest in the EU.

Hopes of a raise in the minimum wage were disappointed this week when the head of the interim parliamentary committee on budget and finance Menda Stoyanova said that no proposals to raise the minimum wage were on the agenda and that the 2015 budget that is being adopted is based on the current level. The minimum wage is currently BGN340 (€173) per month and is the lowest in the EU. The Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB) has demanded the minimum wage be raised to BGN400.
