The Content team at WageIndicator creates engaging, research-based content for WageIndicator websites. Interns contribute to increasing visitor engagement by producing short news bites, in-depth features, and informational pieces grounded in unique WageIndicator data. The content focuses on key themes such as salaries, labor laws, decent work, and career advice.

Staying attuned to global news and events, the team ensures content remains relevant, timely, and accessible. Using WageIndicator’s proprietary data on wages and labor laws, the team crafts original pieces that inform and empower audiences globally. Additionally, interns leverage data visualization and design tools like Canva to enhance content appeal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create short and long-form content focusing on wages, labor laws, and career-related topics.
  • Research and analyze global news and events to inform content creation.
  • Use WageIndicator data to produce data-driven and original informational pieces.
  • Design simple visuals using tools like Canva to accompany content.
  • Promote published content via WageIndicator social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).
  • Plan and execute social media campaigns to increase engagement and website traffic.

  • Basic Canva skills for creating visuals and graphics.
  • Understanding of social media platforms and campaign strategies.

WHAT KIND OF CONTENT:

Content for WageIndicator sites will cover the following themes: Wages (living wages, minimum wages, celebrity wages etc), Labour Laws (leave, pay, workplace rights etc), Career (how to be an entrepreneur, how to find a job, top 10 jobs etc). See www.wageindicator.org for reference.

MARKET RESEARCH

All interns, regardless of their primary team, are integral members of the Market Research team. This dynamic group is dedicated to exploring cost-of-living data across different countries, helping WageIndicator analyze how global events—like the COVID-19 pandemic—have reshaped economies and daily life.

Interns play a key role in collecting and analyzing data that informs quarterly living wage calculations. These insights directly influence WageIndicator’s understanding of affordability and economic trends in various regions. By exploring online markets, navigating local language websites, and uncovering real-time pricing trends, the Market Research team ensures accurate and relevant data collection.
