About SASE 2025
Solidarity is a multifaceted concept central to social and labor movements, encompassing collective action, welfare policy, and group cohesion. It requires imagining inclusive communities and deciding who belongs within them—decisions that shape struggles for rights, equality, and justice. Today, solidarity is challenged by war, climate crisis, rising far-right politics, and corporate resistance to regulation. Yet, it is also redefined by movements for racial, gender, labor, and climate justice. The 2025 SASE meeting in Montréal explores how solidarity is practiced, who it includes or excludes, and how institutions, movements, and capital shape its future in a deeply divided and unequal world.
