With Living Wages increasingly on the global development agenda, and considered by some to be the linking pin to achieve the SDGs, many companies are actively trying to implement them across their supply chains.
But this is much easier said than done. Multinational companies often work with hundreds of contractors and sub-contractors across thousands of regions across the world. Finding accurate and timely cost of living estimates for these regions, helping their suppliers access and use this data, implementing higher wages while maintaining competitiveness, and finally reporting on it all to comply with regulations isn't easy.
The WageIndicator Foundation has maintained and grown its Living Wage database for almost a decade now, and supported the creation and implementation of Living Wage policies for some of the world's largest companies for many years.
In our June Living Wage Info Session, we shared some of learnings from this experience and answered questions on the subject of Living Wages.
