Germany - Agreement after 15 months of negotiations - April 30, 2024

After 15 months of negotiations and five warning strikes, the union IG Metall and energy company Ørsted have achieved a mutually satisfactory negotiation result for the collective agreement for the Norddeich site. Negotiations between the company and IG Metall started in January 2023. On 3 April 2024, the employers submitted an improved offer, which brought the breakthrough in the negotiations on 10 April. An Ørsted wage table will be introduced, which is based on the IG Metall Coast collective agreement. Weekly working hours will be reduced from 40 to 38.5 hours. The allowances for offshore employees will be increased, whereas onshore employees will get a bonus.
