Norway - Wage increase for health workers - May 31, 2024

Negotiations in the health sector between trade unions and the employers' organization, Spekter, has resulted in a central agreement for hospital employees. The agreement guarantees a minimum wage supplement of NOK 22,000 (€ 1,905) for all employees. A 3.7% general supplement ensures equitable compensation, with local negotiations expected to further improve overall wages by 5.2%. Efforts to promote full-time employment within hospitals are underway, addressing the problem of part-time work. Initiatives include increasing the minimum rate for weekend work and developing a new model for calculating weekend supplements.
