Trade unions and employers agreed on a new collective agreement for the 130,000 employees covered by the Cleaning Collective Agreement. In addition to a wage increase of at least 7%, with employees in the lowest salary scales benefiting even more, it has also been agreed that cleaning during the day will become the norm. If the union members agree, the new collective agreement will come into effect on 1 July 2024 with a term of two years. Wages will increase by 3% on 1 January 2025 and by another 3% on 1 January 2026. All cleaners will receive an additional increase on 1 July 2025 and 1 January 2026, depending on their pay group. This amounts to € 0.25 per hour for wage group 1, € 0.15 for wage group 2 and € 0.10 for wage groups 3 to 6.
