Shortly before the end of the peace obligation, union IGBCE and the employers' association BAVC agreed on a collective bargaining compromise. The 585,000 employees in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry nationwide will receive a pay increase of 6.85% in two stages. In the current year 2024, employees will receive - in addition to the 3.25% pay increase and tax-free inflation compensation premium of € 1,500 in January from the last collective agreement - a further 2% increase from September. From April 2025, pay will increase by a further 4.85%. In addition, IGBCE members who are covered by collective agreements will receive an additional day off per year in the future. The collective agreement will came into force on 1 July 2024 and will have a term of 20 months.
