The CFDT and UNSA health and social care federations have jointly called a national indefinite strike for all staff in private health and social care, effective from 17 June. This action underscores the pressing demands of the unions for better working conditions. The core union demands focus on the extension and implementation of “Amendment 33” to the collective agreement for the private health and social care sector. It aims to enhance careers and salaries, recognizing the experience employees acquire, even when they change employers within the sector. This amendment is seen as a critical step towards recognizing and rewarding the valuable contributions of healthcare and social service workers, ensuring their professional growth and financial stability. The CGT health and care federation organized a demonstration on 11 June, advocating for better conditions in health and social care. Among other demands, they call for an end to precariousness in the sector, more permanent contracts, protection of public sector institutions.
