Union confederation FH presented an analysis of wage development in the first quarter of 2024. The salary in the DA area (covered Dansk Arbejdsgiverforening, the main employers’ association in the private sector) increased by 5.0% in the first quarter of 2024, which is slightly below the expected level. The real wage increased by 4.0%, due to low inflation of 1.0%. However, the actual salary development is still below the agreed cost increases in the collective agreements. This represents a slight increase of 0.1 percentage points compared to the fourth quarter of 2023. Wage developments varied among the different sectors. White-collar workers experienced a wage increase of 4.3%, which is an increase of 0.2 percentage points from the previous quarter. Blue collare workers got an increase of 5.8%, also an increase of 0.2 percentage points from the fourth quarter of 2023.
