Unions and hotel associations are at odds over wage demands. Mediation is sought by the Ministry of Labour as ongoing negotiations to renew the collective agreement in the hotel industry hit a standstill. The hotel associations PASYXE and STEK called the wage demands put forward by the unions SYKXA-PEO and OUXEKA-SEK 'unrealistic'. According to the employers, the wage demands would lead to 32% increase in labour costs.
