In 2023, the average annual gross wages and salaries of the employees with a labour contract were 24,147 BGN (€ 12,347) according to preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute. Compared to 2022, the increase was 13.7%. In the public sector, the increase was 14.9% and in the private sector 13.2%.
