Austria - New collective agreement for Red Cross workers - February 29, 2024

Trade unions Vida and GPA have negotiated a new collective agreement covering the 7,000 employees in the regional associations of the Austrian Red Cross. All employees covered by the framework agreement will get a 9.15% pay increase. The collective agreement ensures that important provisions which previously differed from one state to another have now been successfully harmonised across the country, with a normal working week of 37 hours and at least 26 weekends off per year. In addition, a five-day week applies to everyone, and there is an allowance for short-term replacements.
