In the seventh round of negotiations, after a number of warning strikes, an agreement was reached on a new collective agreement for the chemical industry. For decades, the chemical industry has been one of the sectors with the best-paid jobs for its approximately 50,000 employees and is one of the leaders in terms of allowances and bonuses. The key data of the current collective agreement are as follows: Wages and salaries in the chemical industry will be increased by 6.33%, but by a maximum of € 316.50; apprentices' wages will also increase by 6.33%. The new collective agreement will apply from 1 May 2024 and will run for 12 months.
