Switzerland - Union demands 5% real pay rise - September 30, 2023

Households with income from work are under increasing pressure. Against this background, the Swiss Federation of Trade Unions (SGB) is calling for real wage increases of 5% in 2024. A turnaround is needed with real wage increases and concrete measures against the explosion in health insurance premiums and the rent price. The SGB is therefore preparing to mobilize against the fourth round of negative wages in a row. The purchasing power demonstration started on 16 September in Bern.
