Sweden - Strike in hospitality called off after mediation - September 30, 2023

Union Kommunal has accepted the mediators' offer and a new collective agreement will be signed with Visita, the employer organization in the hospitality sector. On September 6, Kommunal announced a strike after negotiations with Visita broke down. Kommunal demanded that the new agreement should include a low-wage investment. According to the new agreement the minimum wage increases by SEK 2,450 (€ 206) during the contract period. In year one it will increase by SEK 1,350 (€ 114) and in year two by SEK 1,100 (€ 93). The general pay increase will be SEK 1,036 (€ 87) in year one and SEK 895 (€ 75) in year two.
