Norway - Employees excluded from collective agreement - November 30, 2023

Over 3,000 working members of trade union Fagforbundet are on trade union benefits without a registered collective agreement. This is revealed in a report of Fagforbundet which estimates that half of this group work in a group or company that has a collective agreement, but in a workplace without a collective agreement. Some of the private enterprises create many sub-units within their organization. Then an employee may first be employed at a place with a collective agreement, but then move on to a unit without a collective agreement. It is a challenge to keep up with this when employers are constantly changing their organizational structure, says Fagforbundet.
