Netherlands - Up to 14% pay rise for workers in long-term care - June 30, 2023

After long negotiations trade unions and the employers’ association for nursing homes and home care ActiZ have agreed on a renewal of the collective agreement for the 450,000 employees. Wages will rise by 10% to 14%, work pressure will be reduced and the influx of young people will be promoted. Furthermore, the travel allowance will increase by 70% to € 0.17 per kilometre. Wages will go up in three steps. On 1 October 2023, employees will get a pay rise of 5%, with a minimum of € 125. On 1 March 2024, the salary will increase by 2.5%, with a minimum of € 75. On 1 October 2024, there will be another 2.5% salary, also with a minimum of € 75. The current collective agreement ran until 31 December 2023, but has now been extended by one year until 31 December 2024.
