After a number of strikes, the trade unions and automotive producer VDL NedCar reached an agreement on a social plan, that was accepted by an overwhelming majority (90%) of the union members. Many of the more than 3,800 employees of VDL NedCar are at risk of being laid off early next year, because motor company BMW is stopping the production of cars at the factory.
