Netherlands - New agreement for secondary vocational education - August 31, 2023

Trade unions reached an agreement with the employers’ organisation of secondary vocational education, MBO. Wages will increase by 12.7% in the lower scales and by 8.8% for the highest scale. Youth wages will be abolished from the age of 18. Salaries will increase by 4.57% plus a fixed amount of € 100 will be paid as of 1 July 2023, resulting in an average increase of 7%. As of January 2024, wages will increase by 3%. Everyone who was working under the collective agreement on 1 July will also receive a one-off payment of € 1,000. The term of the collective agreement is from June 2023 to June 2024 (12 months).
