Unionized public transport workers affiliated with the trade union Associazione Lavoratori COBAS (AL COBAS) were on a strike in Milan to protest against the planned privatization of Milan's public transport. Although the union had not called for a rally, unionized workers gathered in the vicinity of major transport hubs.
