Hungary - Union says minimum wage increase is inevitable - June 30, 2023

The Hungarian Trade Union Association MASZSZ considers the mid-year minimum wage increase to be inevitable. According to MASZSZ, the currently forecasted inflation rate for the rest of the year leads to a real wage decrease, which in particular affects those who earn the least. The trade union recalled that in the 2023 wage agreement, the parties tried to preserve real wages and, if necessary, to raise them mid- year. The Federal Council of MASZSZ hopes that no one will try to back out of the agreement.
